The Department of Atmospheric Sciences invites qualified applicants to apply for admission to our M.S. and Ph.D. graduate programs. A background in meteorology or atmospheric sciences is not necessary; students with an undergraduate degree in any quantitative discipline such as physics, chemistry, math, or engineering are encouraged to apply (see Admission Requirements). Although there are no formal deadlines, applicants for Fall semester are encouraged to have all materials submitted by January 15, and for Spring semester by October 1, for full consideration.

Nearly all admitted graduate students receive financial support, either as research or teaching assistants (see Graduate Studies Funding Opportunities). Assistantships include health insurance benefits and tuition payment. Current stipends from $21,000 to $24,000 per year. The cost-of-living in the Bryan-College Station area is generally quite low.

See the Office of Graduate Studies for a comprehensive list of Student Forms, Documents and Procedures.
